Michigan and Wisconsin deer hunting

Question:
I am interested to know how the deer hunting is in Michigan and Wisconsin. I will be in that area am I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions about getting a Non-Resident permit. I believe that the area that we will hunting is near Manitowoc, WI and the other is north from there in the state of Michigan.

Answer:
For Michigan you can buy a nonresident hunting license at many retail outlets. This includes most places where hunting supplies are sold and many other stores. You will need a drivers license or another credible source of ID. Michigan doesn't allow Michigan ID cards any longer because you can get one without showing residency. You will need proof of a hunters safety class or a previous hunting license if you were born after 1/1/1960. I'm not sure if it means any hunting license or a Michigan hunting license, so I would bring hunter safety certificate to be sure. You can get more info on prices and such at http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/ Hope this helps.
