Trout Fishing

Question:
What Bait Is Required For Trout Fishing

Answer:
Shore Fishing:

Shopping List: #14 Treble hooks Gold or Bronze* 4 pound test Maxima line 3 to 4 pound test leader Size 12 Swivels Gold or Bronze* 1/2 to 3/4 ounce Steel Egg Sinkers Spider Wire 30 pound test 8# size (Optional 4 to 6 pound test monofilament) #1 Snap Swivel 1-3/8 to 2" Bobber Worm inflator BAITS: Berkley Power Bait (Bright yellow, green or chartreuse (glitter optional). I like to use a fresh jar daily. Pautske's Premium Red Label "Ball's of Fire" salmon eggs. (Protein) Worms / Nightcrawlers (1 or 2 Dozen.) Inspect worms for liveliness. Bad odor = dead worms. (Protein) Kraft mini marshmallows (Plain white). Or you can buy the garlic flavored fish bait. (Sugar) Kraft Velveeta cheese (1pound) (Fat) Berkley Power Wigglers Zeke's Floating Cheese (Fat) WC-40 Spray Lubricant. (Odor) Canned Whole Kernel Sweet Corn (Green Giant) (Sugar) Bait Tips: Try anything once to see what the fish are favoring today. Three salmon eggs with a bit of Power Bait mushed aroung the hook eye makes a Shasta Cocktail. A worm can be inflated with air or floated with a mini-marshmallow. Note: If fish are biting, then go for production. Remove hook from fish if extraction is easy, otherwise, cut and replace leader, bait and cast. <>For a Status Indicator, I hang a 1-3/8 inch bobber -- with a size #1 snap-swivel. Open the Snap and hang it from the line between the second and third eyelet. Rod angle should be at about 45 degrees. The bobber should be suspended half way to the ground. If the bobber jerks up, then you have a bite. If the bobber rises slowly, then it could be the wind is increasing or a fish might be mouthing your bait. If the bobber drops slowly, the wind could be dying down or a fish might have your bait and be coming towards shore. <>Check bait at 30 minute intervals. <>If you get a fish, and adjust your reel drag for the fight, be sure to reset your drag to a light setting after casting. <>Most fish are within 30 to 40 feet of shore.
