Question:
In fact I read an article in Texas Trophy Hunters magazine a couple months back that said they did not think it would ever be scored because it was a hoax. They said he
had been in the business of making replica horns and that they though he had
made these and then place them on this deer in the field for the photo. If
he never submitted the horns to be measured then he could not be charged
with any crime, however as sone as they are submitted for measument and if
the are fakes then he could be charged and fined. I do not know if this is
all true or not. but if it is real why has it not been measured already?
Answer:
In the Deer & Deer Hunting August issue there are several stories about
Rompola's buck. It has been scored by three CBM scorers , and all contest it's
the real thing. It scored 216 5/8, besting the Hanson buck by about 3 points.
This guy has repeatedly shown that he can consistently take some very nice deer,
he holds the Michigan non typical record the best I can remember. I think we
should cut him some slack, and maybe even applaud him for a job well done. Just
