bass for their 30th wedding anniversary. I'm open to mexico, US,
canada.... anyone done a fantastic fishing trip that included a guide,
place to stay, meals, boat.....and all the goodies.
please help time is running thin.
Answer:
Browse around and follow links. I don't know of any packages like you want but
the components are all available. The guided fishing trips run about $250 for a
1/2 day to about $350 for a full day. Everything provided except food and luck.
This area is about 40 miles from Austin and 90 miles from San Antonio so it's
fairly easy to get to. We were up there about 2 weekends ago and there was
hardly anyone on the lakes. There are 4 consecutive lakes within a few miles of
each other. Bass fishing is pretty good and Buchanan is one of the best striper
lakes in the state. A little ways away from there is Canyon Lake. Rainbow and
brown trout fishing in the Guadalupe River just below the dam.
There are lots of other outdoor things to do around there. The bald eagles nest
at Buchanan in the winter.
Horseshoe Bay on Lake LBJ and Lakeway on Lake Travis are very nice resorts in
the area.
Don't send them now unless they like miserable heat. Winters are really cold. It
may get down to 20 or so.
Amistad and Falcon on the Mexico border get a lot of press. Right now, they're
both about 40' feet low but I understand the fishing is still fair, though I
wouldn't eat anything out of the Rio Grande.
