Question:
I picked up a book today called The Orvis Flyfishing Guide, by Tom
Rosenbauer. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but the table of contents
seems to make this book much more complete for a beginner than the other
books I've looked at. This book was recommended to me by the local
flyfishing shop. They said that this is the book that they assign for their
flyfishing classes. (I wish there was class starting near me, but there
aren't any until next April!!). Anyone ever read this book before?
Answer:
That's the book that got me started a couple months ago. It covers just
about everything. Overall, it's very good, except for the section on
casting. I think it's just too hard to put the whole motion into words. If
you have no idea how to cast, I would recommend asking someone from your
local flyshop for a little help.
