hunting pistols, crossbows, .177 cal. pellet rifles

Question:
Interested in heariing about suitable pistols for hunting and survival uses (considering .357 mag. Taurus.) Want to hear about crossbow quality, experiences and why addiitional arrows in magazines are only with target points and not offered with broadheads??

Answer:
Ohio allow handgun hunting for whitetail deer. I use both a Ruger Blackhawk 6" in .357 magnum, and a Thompson-Center Contender 10" in .357 magnum and a 4x scope. Both are great hunting firearms BUT may not be acceptable for ALL survival situations as they are both single action and in the case of the T/C, single shot. A double actions firearm like the Taurus or the Ruger Redhawk might be a more all purpose firearm. In any case, in the pre-survival mode check you local state laws concerning proper firearms useage for hunting. In Ohio there are restrictions and both barrel length (5") and caliber.
