Question:
Does anybody know of any public outdoor rifle ranges (Other then
Englishtown...if you've been there you know why!) in New Jersey?
Answer:
Used to be that if in a rural part of the state, there weren't any
probs as long as no property or person was at risk. W/in the past 10-15
years the influx of idiots into once rural area has ruined that. They
call the Troopers or locals at the sound of an air rifle & seem to
think that bullets will turn 180 degrees & fly 2 miles to just endanger
them or their pets.
The Troopers & esp the state Forest Service rangers have changed over
the years too. The Troopers got hammered on by the idiot political
appointees until they had to do something even if they didn't want to.
The rangers used to be very tolerant(even joining in)of shooting. From
what I understand the "new" Florio & later crowd thinks that Whitman is
a "conservative right-winger" & react to civ shooters unfavorably even
if they're shooting at the Warren Grove range.
