Question:
friend of mine is going deer hunting in Mississippi. He
tells me that since he is out if state, he is only allowed to take a
four point or better buck. Does anyone know if this is right. If so,
why?
Answer:
The four point rule is a management policy the state started last year,
to try and increase the buck population.
They increased the doe harvest from three to five per season.
Its seems the study they did revealed that the doe herd was over
populated, and the buck herd was under populated.
Also they have added a second primitive weapon season after gun season.
I don't know what restrictions are placed on out of state hunters.
