Question:
would like to know if anyone has any plans on how to build a homemade
boxblind for deer hunting
Answer:
My family has been using boxes for years. What we do is frame out a box
using 2x3's (for weight). We make them 3' wide by 4' long and 3' deep.
On the inside at the bottom and 18'' up from the bottom install 2 2x3
the length of the box for plywood seats to rest on.(the bottom would be
for the floor) Don't nail them in place, when not in use you can lean
them against one end as to clean out leaves and snow. Also you will have
dry seats when you arrive on a rainy day. We cover the outside by simply
stapeling on old carpet, the shaggy part facing in. Then just a lil'
spraypaint and hoist it up in a pre built platform that you installed in
your fav tree. Once on the platform make sure to put a few lag bolts
through the 2x3's into the tree.
