about 500' of my home (only 25' from my property line), despite the
fact that the owner has hundreds of acres elsewhere to do so.

You need to find a legal activity that will scare waterfowl
away and annoy hunters. Power saws are good at that kind of thing;
you could take up carpentry. You could also buy a cord of wood and
split it - slowy, and into very small pieces. You could also become
a sculptor of granite blocks
