Question:
Last two weekends I went Bow Hunting under an old crap apple tree that I
fertilized in early February. The Tree was loaded with Apples, However the
Deer are not visiting the tree. There are hundreds of apples laying on the
ground. The thing that makes this strange is that I vistied the tree about
one month before the season open and there was substantial activity under
the tree. What has caused this abrupt change? Believe it or not I seen four
scraps this early in the season and the peak of the rut is not usually
until mid November.
Answer:
The oaks just started dropping and whitetails prefer acorns 2 to 1 over
ANYTHING else to eat....find the oaks that are dropping an I PROMISE you'll
find the deer.
