Question:
If you like to watch hunting videos that are well done, educational and
exciting, you might check out those from Quest Productions. I've seen
several so far (Fatal Calling for example) which are just excellent.
Highly recomended.
Answer:
I agree, Quest produces some of the best videos around. Their
video's are of the highest quality in terms of picture quality, stress
on ethics, and information. My favorites are (in order) "Backyard
Bucks", one about a canoe float trip for backwater WT's(It's title
escapes me") , and "One on One". I haven't seen a below average, or
for that matter average video by Quest. Another good video series is
by Wolf Creek Prod. I've seen 4 good video's by them, with "Trophy
WT's East and West" being the best. The only problem I've seen is with
Alan Altizer taking a couple of less than Ideal shots. The other
series that I think is outstanding,(and contains a good sense of
humor), are the video's by Gene Wensel and Rick Blase. "October WT's I
and II" and "High Noon Bucks" were very good. Some video's to avoid
like the plague, are anything with Dan Fitzgerald in. He is an
egomaniac, and just this side of a slob hunter(maybe). Like most
things the majority of video's are only mediocre, however the bad ones
can do a great deal of harm with the non hunting public. Things like
the aftermath of spine shots, bad hits, or field dressing have no
place on video IMHO. I've seen a few whose producers should have been
the ones shot. Well that's enough harping for now. I'd like to hear
some other video reviews, video's help pass the time till bow season.
