Question:
Do you any of you duck hunt from a boat blind?
Answer:
Going out to the open water generally isn't productive because those
ducks that are landing out there are doing so to feel protected. To get
them to come in, you'll need ALOT of decoys (200?).
I do like hunting out of a boat blind, but just like any other type of
hunting, scouting out the key locations is the most important thing you
can do. What the boat provides you is
- a dry spot away from mud (not always something you get on the shore)
- transportation (often a must)
What it costs you is that it's harder to make a boat blind blend in with
the surroundings (again, scouting helps this).
