Question:
Some people do not have the opportunity to hunt
with their dog and trials are their only outlet
where they can work with a dog.
Answer:
You have gone a long way round to repeating what I was originally saying.
The name of this ng can be quite misleading. Trialing is not the same as
hunting. They are two separate topics. Dogs competing for ribbons are in
essence "show" dogs. Hunting dogs, are just that "hunting" dogs, and have
always been "hunting" dogs.
Hunting, to me, means going out in the bush with your dogs and gun to hunt
for game. A good hunting dog has not much to do with ribbons or registration
papers. Perhaps I should be looking for an ng titled "Gundogs."
