Question:
Friends in the industry tell me that Browning archery yesterday (august 31)
said it is closing it's operations ! No more Browning bows ! Apparently
nothing to do with the gun business though.
Anyone know more about this ?
Answer:
I owned two of their bows, each impossible to fine tune. Just came in from the
range trying (more like wasting my time) to tune the bow. NO SUCCESS. Tiller
was set fine (1/8" higher on upper limb), weight was set at 54 lbs, nock was at
3/8 above center, the whole enchelada. Arrows just wouldn't fly true. I was
using the fletched/unfletched method. The bow just couldn't be tuned right.
Very frustrating. As I said, two bows, two strikes, and you're out. Sorry,
Browning, you struck out as far as I am concerened. Stick to guns. Bows are not
your engineers' thing.
