Question:
I was starting to look for a bolt-action rifle for hunting white-tail deer
hear in Va.
Answer:
My favorite is the Remington 700 BDL in the .270 variety. Out of the box
it's as good as I've ever found. As far as a scope is concerned I prefer the
Leopold VariX-II. It's not as expensive as the VariX-III and works as well I
think. There are less expensive scopes the will work very well though.
I would not hesitate to spend the cash on the rifle. Reliability and
accuracy have been the norm for all the Rem 700's that I own.
