Question:
Does anyone have any suggestions for Archery Elk? What kind of techniques
work well, keeping in mind the hunt will be during the rut. I've never
been a big fan of stands, and usually glass and stalk. I have in the past
gotten to within 60 yards, but have never tried to get closer doing this.
Should I try calls? Cow or Bull? Rattling? I do not care for mechanical
broad heads, any suggestions on traditional broadheads? Coincidently the
weeks prior to the Elk hunt in that area is archery deer and archery
turkey. Any tips for archery turkey? I'd never thought of trying that
before and it seems like a neat thing to try. Any suggestions would be
good.
Answer:
Check out NAP Razorbacks. I shot two deer the same day, with the same
broadhead,(after minor touch up with the diamond stone), both shots were
complete pass through at 35 yds. I decided to test one after that day. Fifty
yards at a steel barrel, shot through both sides and still cut my finger
after. Still have that one ready for September.
