Question:
How is the hunting in southwest Colorado during the last week of
October/first week of November for elk and mule deer? I've been invited on
a trip this fall and don't know what to expect. We are supposed to go by
horseback into the camp site but that is all I know. Has anyone been on a
trip like this in SW Colorado?
Answer:
That should be the third rifle season.By then the bowhunters have been out,
then us muzzleloaders, then two previous rifle seasons. Most critters get a
little jumpier after that much exposure.
Temperature can be "downright chilly" that late depending on the altitude.
I would try to get a lot more information on altitude and area, then resolicit
information from the list!
