I live in Southern California (Antelope Valley area). How far do I have to go
to find some decent fishing out here? Any suggestions?

Hot Creek around Bishop is very good fly fishing, but you might be
surprised at how small that creek is! Lake Crowley used to be
great in October, where it is open for fly fishing only. The
perch fry are there in abundance. We would catch 20 3 pounders
a day easily. However, since the water shortage years, Crowley
may have lost its potency. I'd like to hear how it's doing in
the fall during fly fishing season these days.
