Question: I would like to make a self bow and I have a nice sassafras tree that I would like to use however I'm unsure on weather to use the heart wood or sap wood. Does anyone have experiance with sassafras?
Answer: I think sassafras is a rather soft wood - I don't know about its suitability
to bows, but furnature it isn't used much since it is somewhat softer than
pine.
