Question:
I have been working with some friends that have cam bows when i paper
tune them they all run nock high then i move the nocking point down and
it ends up being 1/8 to 3/16 below square is this something that cam
bows are noted for?
Answer:
Sounds like either the arrow is underspined or perhaps
the launcher tension is too high. A slightly nock high tear is totally
appropriate. If not, you are slamming the arrow down on the rest. Not the
quietest or most durable setup. I shoot carbons and have the arrow lift
slightly off the rest as the outsert clears the launcher. All bows setup
this way have a 1/8" high nock set. I would also check timing, this will
play hell with nock set on a cam bow. Paper tuning should be the least of
the equation. Good consistant groups at different ranges is the #1
priority.
