Questions on making a long bow (long)

Question:
What is "Splices"?

Answer:
Splices are the glue joint used to join 2 billets to make a bow. For example, it's often easier to find a (relatively) straight 4' length of tree trunk to make a bow out of than a full 7' length. I believe the FAQ shows an example. Staves are full length split pieces of log, billets are half length split pieces of log.
