Question:
What's it worth and is it any good?
Answer:
recently "inheirited" one - in that I purchased it (through a contact made here on alt.archery, in fact) for a friend, who decided she didn't want it. So now I have it. It's nice.
First of all it's short - I'm used to a martin howett hunter, and the bear is much shorter. The bear is rated at 50#@28", but since I have a 29+" pull, I notice a "stageyness" just beyond 28" - not enough to affect the shot, but I will have it on a scale soon, and I'll bet the draw weight at my distance is significantly over 50-55#. There is more bow shock in the kodiac than in the hunter, as well. The most important thing is to USE the bow - don't even consider buying it if you're a beginner without shooting 50 or 100 arrows with it first
