Question: Any ideas on how we can get in some decent fishing without spending the kind of $$ the big lodges charge?
Answer: The forest service owns/operates cabins all over Alaska. I stayed in one
outside of Ketchikan last summer for a week. Most are accessible by
floatplane only. This is definitely one program that the Forest Service is
managing correctly. They'll send you a whole slew of info on these cabins
and fishing regulations. Try contacting the NFS in Juneau or Ketchikan
